Archdiocesan Annual Appeal (AAA)
Dear parishioners and friends of Saint Matthew’s Parish,
The Church has always depended on sacrifices from its members to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, educate our youth and care for our elderly. The 2017 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal (AAA) is an important way for each of us to contribute to all this work of the Church throughout the Archdiocese. Through our gifts to the Appeal, we truly respond to the needs of the least among us and in turn serve Jesus himself.
As your Pastor and a supporter of the AAA, I am asking for your own generous support to the 2017 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. The Annual Appeal helps to fund many ministries and services within our area. These worthy ministries and services support the work of Christ throughout our Archdiocese in the areas of:
- Teaching the faith
- Spreading the faith
- Celebrating the faith
- Witnessing the faith
This year we plan to handle the Appeal a little differently. On the weekend of February 25 and 26, we will show the AAA video and ask each household to support the Appeal.
This new process will allow us to reach the majority of our parishioners at one time before we begin contacting any families who were not present. We are asking for a prayerful and generous response from every family. Every gift to the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal is first and foremost a gift to support the parish in meeting its obligation. Everyone who chooses not to support the AAA chooses not to support the parish.
The enclosed brochure gives more details about the Appeal. If you can do so when asked, please consider assisting our parish with the Appeal process. If you are interested please contact me at (650) 344-7622 x 102 for further volunteer information.
Our parish goal this year is $135,602. Anything we raise above that number will help us with much needed refurbishing of Ward Hall and the Cronin Center.
I hope you can join me in making this year’s gift an especially generous one. When the time comes, please consider making a sacrificial gift based on your present means. I ask for your generosity to this year’s Appeal and for your prayers on behalf of our parish effort. Thanking you in advance.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Msgr. John Talesfore, Pastor
