St. Matthew Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The SVdP Conference of St. Matthew is a group of dedicated volunteers who operate the St Vincent de Paul food pantry on our campus. In teams of two, we deliver food, diapers and Safeway gift cards to our neighbors in the area surrounding St. Matthew parish.
We are fortunate to receive non-perishable food and produce from Second Harvest Food Bank twice a month, and we pick up donations from Trader Joe's in San Carlos each Friday. Other food donations come from our generous parishioners and St. Matthew school.
We meet together on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the parish office. We always need new volunteers. Feel free to drop in!
The work of SVdP is the Gospel message in action:
- I was hungry
- I was thirsty
- I was a stranger
- I was naked
- I was sick
- I was in prison and you cared.
