Archdiocesan Annual Appeal (AAA)
This month, our parish will join the over ninety parishes in our Archdiocese as we launch our 2020 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal campaign. The Appeal is essentially a tax, which ensures the Archdiocese can continue offering many vital ministries, programs, and services that directly impact St. Matthew’s Parish and School and provide essential support to those in need. Please join parishioners, who have faithfully support the appeal each year by making a gift to the campaign. While a pledge of any amount is appreciated, a pledge matching our average 2020 gift of $375 will ensure we meet our goal. With the help of every parishioner who benefits from St. Matthew’s ministries, we can make our appeal goal!
This year’s theme is from James 2:18, “I will show you my faith by my works.”
As your Pastor, I am asking you to join me in generous support of the 2020 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. Our support will help change the lives of those who need and depend on the programs and services of the Archdiocese. This year, as in recent years, we plan to handle the appeal on one day with Commitment Sunday. On the weekend of February 28 and March 1, I will speak about the Appeal and ask every household in our parish to support St. Matthew Parish in fulfilling its obligation to the Appeal. (This process has proved most effective in past years, helping us to reach the majority of our parishioners at one time.) We are asking for a prayerful and generous response from every family in our parish.
Our parish goal this year is $ 150,000.00.
Your gift lifts the burden of parish administration, and enables us to focus on our real purpose of service ministry. Meeting our goal for the past four years has helped us strengthen our core ministries and create new ministries, such as our new teen ministries. When the time comes, please consider making a sacrificial gift based on your present means. I ask for your generosity to this year’s Appeal and, also, for your prayers for our parish effort. Last year, great positive energy and momentum was achieved by your collective prompt response on Commitment Sunday. Let’s make this Year 5 of meeting our goal. I look forward to another successful appeal!
In anticipation of your gift offered this year, I offer you my heartfelt thanks.
